Zach & Kate | Ferndale Engagement Photographer

I meet most of my wedding couples prior to them booking their wedding with me.  Sometimes, I am booked sight-unseen.  Kate and Zach booked me prior to meeting me so I didn’t really know what to expect when I went to meet them for their engagement session last weekend—I just knew they would be bringing their puppy to the session which is always fun.  I was so excited to find them incredibly friendly, down to earth and gorgeous.  Not only that but their puppy Daisy was the sweetest, cutest, best behaved puppy ever.  Add that all together along with perfect weather and pretty light and it made me once again realize that I have the best clients and the best job in the world.

Thanks for being so awesome Zach and Kate—I can’t wait for your wedding this summer!

Imagination Fun Run | Lynden Event Photographer

This morning I had a wonderful time photographing the Imagination Fun Run 5k and kids dash in Lynden which was held to support the Lynden Destination Imagination team.  We had a great time in the sun and there was an awesome turn out.  I’m off to shoot a senior session so I’ll just leave you with some of my favorite images from the morning.

This woman is AMAZING!  She ran super fast, won the race overall and is four months pregnant.  Seriously amazing!

Second place—also super fast—and winner of the men’s division!

There were a ton of kids running the 5k—these two did particularly well!  Nice job boys!

Kids dash pictures!  This was my favorite part of the day—these sweet little kids all ran a MILE!  I figured a 100 yard dash would be adequate but these kids proved they can out run me any day.

This adorable girl had her own entourage and paparazzi—but you can’t blame her supportive family, she is absolutely precious!

I loved all the support these children received in their race!

This little fellow stole my heart—he is tiny, seriously shorter then my hip and yet he ran a WHOLE mile!  My hero!  When I grow up I want to be just like him!

Anthony | Bellingham Senior Photographer

I know I’ve said it before but I LOVE taking senior pictures!  It is so much fun to get to know these amazing teenagers and look at life through their eyes for awhile.  Anthony was so wonderful to work with—sweet, open for anything, can work it for the camera—I couldn’t ask for more!  We had such a great time in the wonderful sunny weather capturing some awesome images for him.  I love it when seniors want to incorporate things that are important to them during this stage of their life.  Anthony wanted to include his truck and dirt bike in the session and I’m so glad he did!

Brielle | Everson Newborn Photographer

This week I got photograph the most adorable baby girl—sweet little Brielle!  I adore Brielle’s name, don’t you?!  We’ve been anxiously anticipating her arrival as she tried to join the world a couple months early.  Thankfully she decided to stay warm and hang on a little longer in order to reach a nice, safe age to be born.   She tried to stay wide awake for her session but we finally coaxed her into a little nap so we could get some cozy, cuddly, sleepy newborn pictures. 

Brielle joins Lance, Jessica and Colby to make a perfect little family of four.  I’m so excited for all of you on the birth of sweet little Brielle.  Thank you for letting me document this exciting time in your lives and get my baby fix this week!  I can’t wait to see how much she grows by her next session!

Squishy baby faces—it is amazing how many different faces you can get out of a newborn in just a few minutes!

Jim & Ruth | Birch Bay Engagement Photographer

Engagement sessions abound over here these days!  I just love engagement sessions—what a great way to get to know each couple, hear about their fantastic wedding details and play for an hour.  I like to think of them as a playful date for the couple and I get to come along to document the fun!

I had a great time this week with Jim and Ruth out in Birch Bay.  We were hoping for sunny skies but as usual in the last few weeks, every time I get out my camera it starts raining.  The good news is that I’ve never had rain affect a wedding yet so I figure if we get out all the rain during the engagement sessions then we are good to go for the weddings!  It wasn’t raining much by the time we started the session and the dampness once again made for amazing, saturated colors so we didn’t mind. 

These two are so adorable together!  They were up for anything and in fact asked for some funny, playful pictures so we went on a little adventure and come up with some fun images.  Thanks so much Jim & Ruth!  I can’t wait for your wedding—I’ll be on the lookout for a big field to play in!

Sassy!  

I adore this series!  I just love how tiny they look on the picnic table!  It was super long but it looks fairly normal sized in the pictures which resulted in a fabulous optical illusion of them being tiny!
