Don’t Pinch Me!

I’ve got my green on!  Happy St. Patty’s Day everyone!  I’m longing for some corned beef tonight…but we’re heading out with friends for some yummy Italian/Greek instead.  I’d rather have good company than corned beef!  We’ve got an exciting weekend coming up with family sessions, a wedding reception for the couple who had the Maui wedding, T’s third birthday—remember when she turned one?  Seems like just yesterday! And, last but not least, SPRING SUNSHINE!  I can’t wait for the nice weather of spring!  Hope you have some fun things planned too!

Here is some green I found in Maui—I think I’ve looked at 20 of my 1,600 pictures from Maui now!  All in good time I guess!

My dream pasture minus the barb wire fence—just give me a huge amount of acreage with an oceanfront and I am good to go!  I dream big!

LyndenPhotographer-101 There is a waterfall to the right of this bridge, but I liked this view too—so green!

LyndenPhotographer-102 The stray dog at the park that I still want to go back and steal.  He was shy when we walked up as a group but when I went up to him alone he whimpered and looked at me with the saddest eyes ever.  I don’t think he understands why no one was bringing him home.  Sweet thing—he was just Diesel’s size, they could have been best friends.

LyndenPhotographer-103 The black sand beach—gorgeous and SO green!

LyndenPhotographer-105 Rainforest jungle plants—we wanted to reenact some Tarzan moves but the boys weren’t into it.

LyndenPhotographer-106 My favorite—giant Maui cacti!  It is like Texas and Hawaii all rolled into one—pure heaven!

Winter Fine Art

I love taking time to capture images just for myself—to play around, try new things, work on techniques and relax.  This weekend I did a little bit of all of that as I wandered around Hovander Park looking for new sights and scenery.  I miss the bright, warm, sunny colors of spring through fall, but winter has a stark beauty all of its own.

Life on the Funny Farm | Lynden Photographer

I took these photos around our place today:

-After a fabulous family session with the most adorable kids (I can’t wait to show you the pictures!!)

-After shopping at three antique stores for some awesome new baby and children session props

-After hitting up Sonic for tater tots, fry sauce and a lemon-berry slush…mmm!  Now that was $2 well spent!

-After taking an hour walk with Diesel to walk off the aforementioned $2 lunch

-After stopping by the neighbors and seeing their 30 goats for sale

-After doing some serious business planning and brainstorming

-After cleaning up the disaster of packaging in my house from my gorgeous album orders

-After hearing weird noises outside and finding Rascal (who should have been in the outside paddock) had unlocked a stall door, entered the stall, knocked over the wheelbarrow that was parked in his way, went through the stall into the breezeway of the barn, opened a closed bucket lid and ate all of the miniature horses’ grain, knocked over his own closed tub of grain with approx. 40 pounds of grain and 20 pounds of salt in it and was happily munching his way through that.

It has been a day!

LyndenPhotographer-100 Meet Cowboy (below) and Cookie (above)!  They are keeping Rascal company this winter so he doesn’t eat me alive from boredom.  They are miniature horses and are about the sweetest, friendliest, furriest, littlest things you’ve ever seen!

LyndenPhotographer-101 LyndenPhotographer-102 Naughty, naughty Rascal…still eating!

LyndenPhotographer-103 LyndenPhotographer-104 The always handsome Diesel Lee!  He just got over an icky eye infection—despite chewing his medicine bottle up so I couldn’t unscrew the cap of his eye drops.  The dog is not dumb…I should have tried that when I was younger!

LyndenPhotographer-105 LyndenPhotographer-106 I love how he crosses his paws when he lays down!

LyndenPhotographer-107 Daisy Bell—she was not feeling photogenic today.

Foxy

It was so much fun to capture this little fox on San Juan Island this fall.  I wanted to scoop him up, pop him in my truck and bring him home.

Landscapes & Details | San Juan Island Photography

The past two weeks I’ve spent quite a bit of time out on San Juan Island.  I had an opportunity to create some images of this gorgeous island in the fall.  I’ve shared some of my landscapes and details below but keep your eyes out for several more posts in the future featuring a giant black tail buck, a curious red fox, Roche Harbor, English Camp and the Friday Harbor Marina.

I’ve been super busy lately—upcoming blog posts will be coming your way with details on exciting changes here at Stephanie Stremler Photography, adorable chocolate lab puppies, a precious blue eyed baby girl, etc.  Not to mention my upcoming family, engagement, wedding and baby sessions will be showing up to.    It will be an exciting fall around here—stick around!
