Burrito Baby

Before taking my sister's Christmas pictures a couple weeks ago I wrapped my niece up in my coat as the weather was cold and she had to wait around for a bit before the horse was ready for their pictures. She gave me the following look--I think she was a bit confused as to why she couldn't find her arms anymore!

Thanks so much to Rob, Sarah and the kids for a great time! I laughed so hard through the session my cheeks hurt afterwards! You guys were awesome--especially running all over the place in the freezing cold! Enjoy the pictures!

Sarah and Rob's Family Session: Sneak Peak Fav

I couldn't wait to share my favorite from this session with you! These two and four fantastic kids braved the 28 degree weather and freezing cold wind for some outdoor shots with me today. Here's my favorite of the two of them!

New House Update: Foundation

Well--the ground work is finished and the foundation is up! Now we just have to backfill and wait for our contractor to return from his honeymoon and we'll be framing! Checkout the progress below.

Here is Brandon doing some late night rolling on all of the fill we brought it. We dug out a big hole and filled it back in with extra-compacting fill to ensure we won't have any more foundation problems like we did with the old house.

Here are some of the footings just after being poured--it was quite a maze of forms and rebar.

Here is a pile of stuff in the middle of the kitchen. Hopefully that is the last time the room is so messy!

Here is an overview--the walls of the foundation are poured but the forms are still on at this point to make sure the concrete was nice and hard. In this picture you can see our awesome covered back patio (the rectangle with the columns in it). I'm very excited for this feature of the house!

Everyday we go check out the progress--Brandon, me, Diesel and Daisy.

A pile of string they were using to make sure things were square and level--which I greatly appreciate after trying to remodel the old house!

It's been a little muddy!

The Great Demolition

We once had a house...

Three weeks ago--we demolished it! Check the progress throughout the day!

Upstairs--that is (err..was!) our bedroom!

Teamwork = big escavator and mini escavator operated by great friends! Thanks for all your help guys! Extra special thanks to Dan to who taught me how to operate the mini escavator the night before...I now have a skill I can fall back on if all else fails.

It was pouring down rain all day--I heard from someone we got about 2 inches of rain that day and I believe it! Check out the muddy escavator tracks...that is what our driveway, yard as well as everyone's feet and legs looked like by the end of the day!

Thank goodness for rain gear and great friends!

Poof! Gone!

See that escavator? That is where our house once stood! I couldn't resist including our last few fall leaves in a shot.

Baby Colby

This Monday I had the joy of photography little, tiny, perfect Colby! Born three weeks early, even though we took the pictures at almost four weeks, he was still quite little. He was absolutely perfect during his session and I can't wait to photograph him again as he continues to grow! Mom (Jessica) looks fantastic and Dad (Lance) was positively beaming around his son. May your new little bundle of joy continue to bless you both and thank you so much for the opportunity to photograph your new addition! I loved his little lower lip when he slept--Colby is adorable no matter what he's up to!
