Jennifer

I always drive home from photo shoots with a big fat smile on my face. It's true--I can't help it. I have the best job in the world--I get to hang out with awesome people in fun locations doing what I love, capturing them in all of their awesomeness. This past Saturday was no different--the big fat smile was plastered all over my face. But this time, I couldn't even contain myself--I picked up my cell phone and called my husband to share the news--"I just photographed such a great girl, in heels and a leather jacket in front of a moving train!!"

Thanks so much for being up for anything Jennifer--even risking your life on the train tracks in heels as the train was coming and posing for my experiment in front of the moving train (including perfectly posing while waiting for the right graffiti to come along!)! All the pictures turned out fantastic--here a few of my favorites with all of the session images to be up by the end of the week.

I loved Jennifer's purple Converse shoes!

Rockin' the heels...perfect!!

Brittany! Post 2

Brittany is such an awesome girl--she is just as beautiful inside as out. I've known her for several years now as she trains with JH Training, which my sister owns. She is hard working and a delight to hang around with. I can't believe she is a senior--but I'm so excited to see what is in store for her future!
All of her pictures should be online by the end of the week--keep an eye out for the next Brittany post, including a cameo appearance by her beautiful Arabian mare!

Brittany's family cat had the most adorable litter of kittens I've ever seen! Check out the colors of these little ones! There are plenty more where these came from and if you are in the market for the most adorable kittens on earth, let me know and I'll have Brittany hook you up!

Brittany's mom and I had her put on her boots with this dress because they went so well together. Plus--the boots are smokin' (and I own the exact same pair!) so we had to make sure they got seen! Brittany--if you wear these to homecoming with this dress you will be my hero!

Brittany's Quick Sneak Peek

Saturday I had an awesome time photographing Brittany's senior pictures! I can't wait to show you all of them soon, but here are three of my favorites--nothing beats a Homecoming dress in a grass field! Thanks for being up for anything Brittany!!!

I like CHOCOLATE & TEAL!

You might have noticed that things look a little different around here! I've decided to mix up my color scheme to better reflect myself and my imagery. I've been doing a bit of self-reflection lately and found that if I had to pick to colors to describe myself it would be chocolate with a hint of teal!

Why CHOCOLATE? Because I like to eat it.

Why TEAL? Because it brings out my eyes.

Just kidding, kind of...but seriously:

How do they relate to me, as a person? While those two things may be true--that fact of the matter is, I think they represent the simple, down to earth person that I am with a splash of color for the fun and spontaneity I love.

How do they relate to my images? I want my images to be classic. I want them to be enjoyed for years to come. However, I want them to have a smidge of the unexpected in each picture. Just enough to make them stand out from the crowd and be cherished.

So that is why I picked chocolate with a hint of teal. Enjoy the new view!

Sometimes it is ok to be SQUARE

Baby Coop's Baby Shower!

In early August I went to my friend Jessica's baby shower. Jessica isn't due until November but her sister was in town so the shower was held early to ensure she could come. Check out some of the fun we had!

Nothing beats rubber duckies!!
Except maybe this awesome shark towel/robe! I can't wait to see her little one running around the house in this fantastic blue robe!

Games! What is a shower without them?! This game alone makes me want to make my own baby food--trying to determine what the flavor of baby food is by sniffing it is quite eye opening to the cuisine little babies get to enjoy. Did you know they make macaroni and cheese baby food? I didn't!

What is she looking at???
Yup--a dirty diaper. But not just any dirty diaper--one filled with candy that resembles...something else. Could you guess the type of candy in the diaper by looking at it and smelling it? I'm not very good at this game b/c I don't eat anything with nuts or peanut butter in it so I'm unfamiliar with over half of the candy bars in America.
My favorite baby shower game--demonstrated by the lovely hostess Melissa! Find the safety pins in the rice while blindfolded. I came in second in this game...I'm quite proud of my fingers for their deciphering abilities. Thanks for hosting Melissa!

Keep your eyes out for maternity and newborn pictures to come this fall! I can't wait to meet Baby Coop!

SQH Angel in Blujeans

I bought Angel when I was a high school senior and she was a two year old. I drug her to Texas with me when I started college and drug her back to WA when I decided to transfer colleges. A pretty little mare with a willing attitude made her a joy to ride. However, after awhile I decided she wasn't quite the horse for me long-term. So I sold her to a good friend, Sarah, and I am so glad I did! Angel has the perfect home and gets to exactly what she loves--chase cans (barrel race)! And boy are the two of them good at what they do!!
Sarah qualified to run in an exhibition race at the Northwest Washington Fair as she was one of the best barrel racers in her division this year. I haven't been able to watch Sarah compete this year so I went to the fair to enjoy some awesome fair food and watch her run. Check out her fantastic run below and keep your eyes peeled for them competing in Vegas someday at the rodeo finals--I'm sure they'll get there sooner rather than later!! Sarah--thanks for being such a great mom to Angel! And if you make it to Vegas, I'll be Angel's groom and personal paparazzi!!

I'm slightly concerned that Angel found the time to take a little nap while turning the corner...I'm thinking Sarah should feed her a little Mountain Dew prior to running.
