Check out this kitchen!

I've been out of town, but I'm back! Here is another stunning kitchen that has Creative Stoneworks counter tops. I loved the detail in this kitchen's island and the stunning view of the bay from their sink. I might be more interested in washing dishes if I could look at that! Thank you so much to the home owner for letting me in to photograph their beautiful home!

Beautiful Kitchens

It is after midnight and I have to get up at 6am but I know I have been depriving you of some new pictures! This week has been extremely busy with photoshoots, our house remodel, and life in general, so I apologize for the lack of posts.

Beautiful Kitchens: This Monday I had the opportunity to photograph four stunning kitchens for the portfolio project I am doing for Creative Stoneworks. Check out the amazing granite countertops in these homes! Here is a sneak peek at two of the homes I photographed. There will be more images coming this weekend of these and the two other kitchens.

Boy--I think I'd cook all day if my kitchen looked as great as these! Thank you so much to those of you who shared your homes with me! It was a pleasure working with you. Enjoy your fabulous granite counter tops!

Lightroom Preset Share

CAUTION--potentially boring (for the non-photographer), photography tech-talk follows, read at your own risk!

For Christmas my dad bought me Lightroom software. Thanks Dad!! This software has been an amazing time saver for my basic post-processing and editing work. If you aren't familiar with Lightroom, think of it as a darkroom for digital images (plus a whole lot of other great goodies!).

Since I know several fellow photographers read my blog, I thought I'd post a recent preset I made tonight while trying to find a good basic preset for most of my images. This preset bumps up the warmth and blacks a smidge. It also adds a little color boost. It does not correct exposure/white balance/sharpen etc.

I named the preset "Baby Pop" in honor of my darling niece, Baby T (no that is not her real name...), who is featured in the example below. Enjoy and please let me know in the comments below if it is working for you. Feel free to use on your personal and client images however do not sell as your own or resell in any way. Thank you in advance for respecting my use terms.

Preston's Senior Pictures Part 2

Here are a few more of my favorite images from Preston's senior shoot.

I loved the rich texture of the tree bark here. You can see how the day started out a little cloudy, which was a whole lot better than the snow at my house!

Here you can see we finally got some blue skies! How great does Preston look against this beautiful blue and green Northwest WA backdrop? Awesome!

This is my favorite image from the photo shoot. I loved the composition of Preston and the shore line, but then I noticed someone in the top of the frame. I went to re-compose to exclude the person from the image, but then I noticed it was Preston's mom. What a strong statement she makes as she looks out over Bellingham Bay as we are capturing her son's last year in high school. I can only imagine what she was thinking but that adds to the beauty of the image.

Preston--you are an insightful, respectful, fascinating person. I wish you the best in your years to come. Enjoy your road trip this summer with your brother and treasure it always. Your mom has done a wonderful job raising you and your father would be extremely proud of the great man you've become. Best wishes!

Feeling Great--Catching Up on Life

Hi everyone! I'm terribly sorry for the long wait! I am now over my lovely pneumonia and the flu! It has been rough week and half, but now with just a lingering cough I am able to return to life. I'll be posting again more frequently, but here is a quick shot of Bellingham Bay I took a couple weeks ago. I loved the structure of this tree in front of the smooth, quiet bay.

A few things to look out for in the near future...more of Preston's senior pictures as promised, more images from my personal photo shoot at Bellingham Bay and remodeling update images--we're installing our new front door this weekend!

So have a great rest of your week and thanks again for all of your thoughts and prayers! They have been heard and answered!
