Leaves and Leaps!

Oh the joys of a puppy enjoying his first fall! I just had to catch some pictures of Diesel playing in the fall leaves. You might be wondering what that fancy dog toy is...it is an electric fence handle of course! Thank goodness it wasn't attached to the electric fence when he decided to play with it! According to my husband, Diesel snatched it out of the barn from our bucket of extras. Don't worry, the dog isn't toy deprived--he would just rather find things around the house play with instead of his $10 toys. I guess it is like the toddler who would rather play with the box their present came in than the actual toy itself. Simple pleasures!

I couldn't leave out Daisy, Diesel's best friend! She was made for fall! I love her coat colors against the fall leaves!

It's all in the details

I love details. Details show you who a person is and what is important to them. At a wedding there are so many details that a bride plans--from the invitations, to the favors, to her shoes and beyond. I love to capture details at a weddings because it is those small things that make each wedding unique and beautiful. Usually much thought and time has gone into the selection of such and it is my job to document them so that they can be remembered for years to come.
Here is a little detail image to share. Enjoy and have a great evening.

I haven't uploaded any photos yet, but check back soon for my "Fine Art" collection which is a collection of landscape and abstract prints available for purchase.
Speaking of abstract--here is an abstract image for you...leave your best guess as to what exactly this is a picture of and the closest guess will receive a free 8x10 from either a past or future session or a fine art print. Good luck!

A Girl and her Stud

Here a few pictures of my sister and her AQHA stallion Bueno Fide Chex, or Trey for short. He's a nice cow-type stud with several gorgeous foals on the ground. Enjoy!

Horses

What do a Sling Blade, an Angel and a Mystical animal have in common? They are all horses of course! My sister owns JH Training and from time to time I've taken sale pictures of her horses or just documented different events she takes her horses to.

Below are a couple images of her riding Sling Blade (aka Billy Bob, Blob etc). Billy was a wonderful gelding she had in training for several months. There are also a few shots of her riding Angel and "ponying" (leading from horseback) her mare Mystic. Angel used to be my horse and I have since sold her to a great friend of mine who is using her for barrel racing (and they are doing VERY well together! I'm so happy she has such a great new mom!). Someday I'll have to get off my new horse and actually take some pictures of him to show you! Until then, here are a few pictures of some other great horses!

Let the Sun Shine In!

Sometimes we see glimpses of Heaven on earth! I loved this moment when I saw the sun bursting through a sky of black clouds. How amazing! It lifted my spirits and I hope it touches your heart too.

Summer Lovin'

I love summer! It's hot, I can wear a tank top everyday, it is the only time of the year my hands and feet aren't freezing (ask my husband!)...I could go on and on! I was day dreaming of summer this morning as I dug my umbrella out from under my truck seat. Yuck.
I didn't really feel like we got weaned off of summer very kindly this year. I woke up one morning to rain and it's been raining every day since--ok, maybe not literally, but it seems like it. So to help myself through this rough transition I decided to go back and revisit some of my July shots at Lake Samish. Ahhh, I can almost feel the hot sun rays, the warm refreshing water, the spray of the water as I wake board around the lake...come to think of it--I'm not sure if this little exercise is making my transition smoother or harder.
At any rate--enjoy your summer memories 'cause we aren't going to see the sun around here for at least another nine months! Here are some of my memories.
The lovely lake and a stunning sky!
My in-laws' neighbor driving the boat. His two daughters love the water--serious mermaids!

Our friend Andy completing an awesome flip on the wakeboard.

Sunset Sniper

It's a Labor Day tradition! What could be better to celebrate my husband and sister's late summer birthdays than a shoot out! Here are a few of shoots of my sister, (aka The Sunset Sniper), the poor corn cob target, the boys checking out the damage and one last image of the corn stalks that got away! Enjoy!
